Since April 2, 2025, international trade experts around the world have been discussing the new approach of the U.S. administration to its tariff policy. The so‑called "reciprocal tariffs", imposed by the U.S. President under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, have sparked both intense debates in the legal community and inevitable litigation in U.S. courts. The development of the dispute Learning Resources v. Trump remained under close scrutiny until the very end: a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on February 20 of this year. It answered some questions but raised others. Apart from the reimbursement of tariffs already paid, new ways of maintaining the course of U.S. trade policy are emerging.
