HSE University Faculty of Law and the Federal University of Minas Gerais chart pathways for cooperation

On March 3, 2026, the HSE University Faculty of Law welcomed Professor Aziz Tuffi Saliba , Vice-Provost for International Relations at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil).

The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research cooperation in the field of law. During the meeting, a letter of accession was signed for the Brazilian university to join the Memorandum of the BRICS Law Schools Consortium. Professor Saliba held working meetings with the Faculty of Law representatives:

• Mr. Alexander Larichev, Deputy Dean for Research;

• Ms. Vera Rusinova, Head of the School of International Law;

• Mr. Vitaliy Sochnov, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Centre;

• Ms. Daria Kuznetsova, Leading Expert at the Institute of National and Comparative Legal Studies.

The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues.

A special part of the visit was a meeting between Professor Saliba and students and alumni of the Master's programme "Law of International Trade and Dispute Resolution", as well as students from the "International Law" track of the Bachelor's programme in Law. The session, held as a lively Q&A discussion, sparked great interest among the audience.
