VII International Summer School on Cyber Law

 



International Laboratory for Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law of the National Research University Higher School of Economics 
(NRU HSE) announces the contest for participation in the VII International Summer School on Cyber Law (ISSC 2018).

VII International Summer School on Cyber Law will be held on August 6-10, 2018 in Moscow, Russia. 

Working language - English. 

International Summer School on Cyber Law is a unique event that brings together young lawyers in the field of IT and IP Law. At the School the participants discuss the most topical legal issues of the Digital economy: Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Era, The Platform Economy and Liability of Online Intermediaries, Data Protection in national jurisdictions. ISSC is a forum for discussing practical and theoretical issues of cyber law in countries with different legal traditions and cultures.

Participation in the International Summer School on Cyber Law is a wonderful opportunity to establish professional relationships and to plunge into the atmosphere of science, master the skills of scientific debate. The event will take place in the center of Moscow, so participants will be able not only to join the scientific community, but also to see the sights of the Russian capital.

The program of the ISSC comprises lectures, workshops, case study, presentations of participants on topical issues. It also includes visits to the leading companies in the field of IT and legal firms specializing in legal regulation of the information environment.

Conditions of participation

We invite young researchers, professors, postgraduate students, graduate students.

To participate in the contest it is necessary to fill in an online application form and attach an independent research project theses on legal issues of the Digital economy: Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Era, The Platform Economy and Liability of Online Intermediaries, Data Protection in national jurisdictions, Information Law.

Research papers - from 10,000 to 15,000 characters (about 10 pages), language - English, Times New Roman, size 14, spacing 1.5, with footnotes. You are required to specify the subject of the research, goals and objectives, methodology, relevance, novelty and conclusions.

The submitted theses are evaluated by an expert group, which consists of legal scholars and practitioners. 28 participants, whose works will be recognized as the best ones, will be invited to participate in ISSC (accommodation and meals covered). Travel expenses are covered by the participants. 

 

Applications are accepted till June 10, 2018.

The contest results will be announced by June 20, 2018.
