Consortium of BRICS Law Schools
Consortium of BRICS Law Schools is an association of leading law schools and organizations that carry out joint activities aimed at studying and exchanging experience within the legal systems of the BRICS countries, identifying their similarities and differences, and assessing the main areas of cooperation; promoting research, debate and innovation in the field of law, as well as a better understanding of the jurisdictions of the BRICS countries.
Mission
The Consortium is intended to become a unique platform for uniting and facilitating cooperation between lawyers, academics, specialists, and experts from BRICS countries, promoting the exchange of experience, joint solutions to current legal issues, and strengthening international cooperation for the sake of shared development
Main goals of the Consortium:
1. to create a platform for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between member universities and organizations of the Consortium;
2. to accumulate knowledge about the legal systems of the BRICS countries and select promising areas of cooperation;
3. to promote academic mobility and cultural exchange, expand academic research cooperation;
4. to exchange information, develop and improve legal instruments for states and businesses of the BRICS countries, provide legal support for regional development strategies;
5. to stimulate publication activity in the field of comparative law and correlation of national legislation with the principles and norms of international law;
6. to articulate the principles of transnational legal culture;
7. to advance the doctrine of the rule of law as the basis for cooperation among the BRICS member states.

On June 24, 2024 HSE Faculty of Law held the first online meeting of law schools and expert centres invited to join the Consortium.
