Start of a season // HSE Vis Moot Team took the 2nd place at the Düsseldorf Pre-Moot

On February 6 to 8 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moots took place in Düsseldorf, Germany, where the HSE team took the 2nd place.

The team was represented by Anna Avdulova (1 year MA), Alexander Dorzhiev (1 year MA), Gessika Drakoulakis (1 year MA), Timur Murzagulov (4 year BA), Sabina Nurbagandova (3 year BA), Mikhail Tyagusov (4 year BA) and Semyon Valyavskyi (1 year MA). The students became one of the top three teams together with the University of Passau (Germany) and the University of Freiburg (Germany). Timur Murzagulov also won the first place in the individual rating and received the Top-1 Best Oralist Award.

Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot was established in 1994 in Vienna, Austria. Every year, students from more than 350 universities in 70 countries take place in this competition.

In the first stage, participants prepare a written statement of the legal position (memorandum) on behalf of the claimant and the respondent. The second stage is held in the form of oral presentations. Prior to taking part in the final rounds in Vienna, the participants practice their skills during pre-moots held all over the world.
