Commercial Law Working Group
Overview
The Commercial Law Working Group, formed within the BRICS Law Schools Consortium, provides a collaborative platform for experts to advance research and dialogue on commercial law issues that are pertinent to BRICS member states. The group focuses on contemporary international and national commercial law topics relevant to the unique economic and legal contexts of these countries. The Working Group includes scholars from law schools in Brazil, China, Egypt, India, South Africa, and Russia.
Priorities for 2025-2026
· Identify and elaborate on relevant commercial law topics.
· Commence comparative legal studies to explore commercial law frameworks across BRICS countries, with potential references to outside frameworks for inspiration.
· Foster teaching collaboration and stimulate publications on both commercial and comparative commercial law.
