Working Groups

The Working Group on Ecology addresses global environmental challenges through legal, technological, and policy-driven approaches. By uniting experts from BRICS countries, we foster sustainability, legal innovation, and impactful policies.
The Working Group on International Law was established to foster collaboration among scholars engaged in international law from member schools of the BRICS Law Schools Consortium. Our goal is to enhance cooperation and facilitate discussions among academics across different regions, while promoting collaborative research and teaching initiatives.
The Commercial Law Working Group, formed within the BRICS Law Schools Consortium, provides a collaborative platform for experts to advance research and dialogue on commercial law issues that are pertinent to BRICS member states. The group focuses on contemporary international and national commercial law topics relevant to the unique economic and legal contexts of these countries. The Working Group includes scholars from law schools in Brazil, China, Egypt, India, South Africa, and Russia.
Artificial intelligence (AI) comprises a set of diverse technologies that are increasingly being used, bringing about profound economic and social changes. Like any new technology, it presents risks and opportunities. In many countries, multidisciplinary AI centers have already been created to advance in various areas, such as health, education, industry, national defense, and the environment. It is in this context that the BRICS consortium initiative fits in, as a way of training professionals from these countries to face the new challenges brought by AI.
LDT WG serves to study and to develop legal grounds and principles for establishing effective legal regulation of digital technologies in the BRICS member- and partner- countries. The activity of the LDT WG is limited to the scientific/research purpose mentioned above. Each member of the working group participates in its activities in accordance with national legislation.
