Working Group on Digital Technologies Law
Overview
LDT WG serves to study and to develop legal grounds and principles for establishing effective legal regulation of digital technologies in the BRICS member- and partner- countries. The activity of the LDT WG is limited to the scientific/research purpose mentioned above. Each member of the working group participates in its activities in accordance with national legislation.
Objectives
· Study of the specifics of the legal regulation of digital technologies in the BRICS member countries, as well as the impact of digital technologies on law and legislation, exchange of experience and information;
· Conducting research in the field of legal regulation of digital technologies in order to develop a regulatory model that allows to provide a balance between maintaining a
human-oriented approach, fundamental human rights and social values, on the one hand, and the unhindered development of digital technologies, on the other hand;
· Development of basic concepts, terms and principles of legal regulation in the digital environment, measures and ways to protect human rights in the digital environment;
· Study the essence and legal nature of institutions such as digitalization, digital rights, data economics, digital government, digital technologies, digital platforms, digital content, virtual objects, artificial intelligence, smart cities,
cyber-physical systems, etc.;
· Conduct lectures and workshops on the law of digital technologies for the students of the Consortium members.
