Conferences and Seminars

In 2021, the HSE University Faculty of Law, together with its permanent partner, the Law Schools Global League is holding Law Schools Global League’s Summer Academic Conference 2021 “Law in Transition” on the 20th  & 21st of July 2021 and the 9th Summer School of the Global League of Law Schools organized by the LSGL Presidency and the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law from 12 – 16 of July of 2021.

In 2020, the HSE University Faculty of Law, together with its permanent partner, the Law Schools Global League, held two major international events in an online format: Summer Academic Conference “The 3R Initiative: Re-thinking, Re-packaging and Rescuing World Trade Law ”and VIII Summer School of the Global League of Law Schools 2020 (LSGL Summer School 2020) for the League's partner students.

In 2019, the HSE Faculty of Law hosted the following international scientific events:

International Conference “International Law in Times of Trade Wars and Global Environmental Problems: Protection or Protectionism?”; 

4th Annual Conference of the Central and Eastern European Network of Legal Scholars “Legal Innovativeness in Central and Eastern Europe”). The keynote speech was delivered by such well-known legal scholars as Anton Ivanov (HSE University), Matyas Bencze (University of Debrecen), Adam Bosiacki, (University of Warsaw & Hoover Institution), Zdeněk Kühn (Charles University, Prague), Josef Marko (University of Graz), Alan Uzelac (University of Zagreb); Kathryn Hendley (University of Wisconsin);

International Conference “Jurisdictional Immunities of States and Their Property: Emergence of New International Customary Law Rules – By whom?”

The International Conference ‘The European Court of Human Rights in East-West Relations: Norms, Values and Legal Politics’ was held in 2018.

In 2017, the Faculty of Law held the following events: the International Conference 'Current Issues of Corporate Law Development in the Post-Soviet Space’, which focused on issues of corporate law development; the International Conference ‘Enforcement Methods in Russia in the Context of the European Legal Tradition’; the Russian-Finnish PhD Conference ‘Current Legal Scholarship in Russia and Finland’, organized in cooperation with the University of Helsinki; the International Scientific and Practical Conference 'Reconsideration of the Soviet Legal Legacy. Our Journey to Law’; and the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference 'Law in Digital Era’.

In 2016, the following international conferences took place at the Faculty of Law: ‘New Trends in Banking and Financial Market Regulation in the EU and Russia’, ‘Labour Law and its Role in the Modern Economic Environment’, ‘Judicial Power in the Current Environment of Legal Statehood Formation’, ‘The Role of Human Rights Education and Research in Promoting European Council’s Standards’.
