Vladislav Starzhenetskiy, Head of the International Justice Laboratory and Associate Professor of the International Law Department of the HSE Faculty of Law, took part at the International conference "Sanctions, Business and Human Rights", which was held on November 22, 2024, in Geneva under the auspices of the UN Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on human rights.
In his report, Vladislav Starzhenetskiy focused on current issues of access to justice in the context of sanctions’ restrictions, application of rules on exclusive jurisdiction by Russian courts, problems of anti-suit and anti-enforcement injunctions, as well as the ongoing transformation in the field of resolving cross-border commercial disputes, namely the change of the dispute resolution forum from Western jurisdictions to neutral Eastern ones, the latest initiative of the Russian Arbitration Association - the Anti-Sanction Arbitration Protocol (ASAP).
