The HSE team advanced to 1/8 of Global Rounds of the FDI Moot in Lucknow!
This year, HSE Team comprised of students and research assistants of the Law Faculty reached the 1/8 of Global Rounds of the Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court (“FDI Moot”), the most prestigious competition in the field of international investment arbitration. More than 150 teams from around the world participate in the FDI Moot annually. This year’s competition was held in Lucknow, India.

A paper written by Adam Nalgiev, a Ph.D student at the School of International Law of the Faculty of Law and a research assistant at the Laboratory of International Justice, on the ISDS reform has been published in the new issue of the International Justice law journal.

Ph.D student of the School of International Law was awarded the International Law in the XXI Century Award for the best scientific paper on public international law
Adam Nalgiev, a Ph.D student at the School of International Law of the Faculty of Law and a research assistant at the Laboratory of International Justice, was awarded the International Law in the XXI Century Award for the best scientific paper on public international law, hosted by International and Comparative Law Research Center. The topic of the paper: “Inconsistency in practice of investment tribunals on the issues of proof: does the reform have anything to offer?”.

On April 25, Laboratory of International Justice held a Round Table on the topic “The Standard of Review for Issues of Law under the WTO Anti-Dumping Agreement”.

How and where to challenge sanctions?
On April 7, Round Table on the topic “Protection of the rights and legitimate interests of sanctioned Russian individuals in international courts” was held at the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics. The event was organized by the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics.

Webinar will take place on the 6th of November 2020 at 20:00. The webinar and the discussion will be valuable for scholars and students across disciplines: those studying international law, human rights, international relations and sociology. The audience will be enriched by an interesting perspective to international criminal justice, get a clearer understanding of field and perhaps come up with their own perspective of the structure and functioning of the “global system” of international criminal justice.

Laboratory's Research-Assistant Was Awarded in the Scientific Conference "Science Days of the HSE Faculty of Law"
Dmitrii Shchetinin, research assistant, was awarded in the "International Law" section. He presented a study on "Debtor-state relations as a ground to refuse enforcement of foreign arbitral awards" topic.
International Summer School on Arbitration in Geneva
Dmitrii Shchetinin, research-assistant of the Laboratory, participated in an international summer school, organised by ELSA (European Law Students Association), from 14 to 21 July. The school was devoted to arbitration and took place in Geneva, one of the most popular seats of arbitration.
