About the School
The School of Private Law was established in the Faculty of Law in 2018. The School encompasses disciplines previously housed in the former Department of Civil and Business Law.
The School's faculty is comprised of renowned scholars, professors, and doctors and candidates of law, many of whom have worked in Russia’s supreme and arbitration courts. The faculty also counts amongst its ranks numerous authorized representatives of the Moscow government, members of the Civic Chamber, and leaders of the Skolkovo Foundation, who have been tasked with revising the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
The School focuses on teaching, research, and education with an eye towards modern ideas about changes in civil and business law, and the development of procedural law. School faculty take part in the implementation of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes at the Faculty of Law. Every year, faculty members routinely receive HSE Best Teacher Awards, which are awarded based on student voting.
