Educational activities

The Department participates in the implementation of educational programs at all levels of higher education in the field of Law in disciplines belonging to their subject areas.

The Department includes scientists, professors and associate professors, doctors and candidates of law, including those with extensive practical experience in higher courts, prosecutor's offices, justice authorities, and the legal profession. The Department's teachers have many years of rich pedagogical experience, actively apply modern educational technologies and interactive methods of practice-oriented learning, and therefore are very popular among students of the HSE Faculty of Law, who choose them as academic supervisors for their course, final qualifying and dissertation works. Many teachers of the Department are regularly awarded the status of "Best Teacher" based on the results of annual student votes.

In the Bachelor's degree, the Department provides teaching of subjects of fundamental importance in the training of lawyers — criminal law (general and special parts), the course "Judicial power and law enforcement agencies", criminal procedure. This set of compulsory subjects is complemented by a number of elective courses, research seminars and workshops that provide highly specialized training for future lawyers in these fields.

At the graduate level, the Department independently implements the "Lawyer in Justice" educational program and participates in the implementation of the master's degree programs "Compliance and Prevention of Legal Risks". 

In postgraduate studies, the Department participates in the training of graduate students of the HSE Graduate School of Law, studying in the field of "Jurisprudence" and preparing PhD theses in the specialty 5.1.4 — "Criminal Law Sciences".
