In 2021 the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation was elected as President of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS). Within the framework of its Presidency, the Civic Chamber of Russia suggested to AICESIS members to update and renovate the statutory documents of the Association, and primarily, its Statute, with the aim to bringing these documents into line with the modern shape of international relations, the place of the Association in these relations and the standards of good governance.
A group of experts in the area of public international law of the International Law School of HSE was invited to give their opinion and draft a new Statute of the Association. The team headed by Associate Professor of International Law School Maria Filatova presented a draft of the Association’s main statutory document. The team involved the Director of the International Law School, Professor Vera Rusinova, Associate Professor Elena Postnikova, PhD students Ekaterina Martynova, Sergey Korotkov and Matvey Tarasov.
The draft of the Statute was praised by the AICESIS Working Group on the amendment of statutory documents. A new Statute shall be adopted by the AICESIS General Assembly in 2023.
