Congratulations to Olga Belova on a successful Ph.D. thesis defense!

On 25th of October, 2021, the Dissertation Council at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Jurisprudence under the Russian Government heard the Ph.D. thesis defense, presented by the lecturer of the School of International Law, Olga Belova, on the “International legal regulation of the electric energy market in the Eurasian Economic Union.”

The forming of the common electric energy market is one of the strategic goals of the partnership between EAEU members. This common market is set to be realized by the 1st of January, 2025.

The novelty of the applied method manifested itself in two instances. First, the comparative analysis of international legal models of cooperation within 11 regional largest trade organizations. It has to be emphasized that such an approach is unparalleled in Russian and foreign practice. Second, the inquiry was based on the division of the common electric energy market from the cross-border electric energy sales.

The Dissertation Council was unanimous in awarding a Ph.D. degree. The opponents, supervisors, and the Council members highly regarded the input of O. S. Belova in the development of the topic and recommended publishing a monograph based on the thesis.

Congratulations to Olga Belova and her scientific supervisor Prof. Vera Rusinova on successful Ph.D. thesis defense!
