From 1 to 4 November, the Global rounds of the FDI Moot were held in Berlin, Germany. This year, over 200 teams participated in the FDI Moot, which reflects a significant interest in international investment law.
During the first stage, the team prepared two memorials on the case issues. Then the team actively trained for the oral rounds, playing numerous friendly matches against teams from Greece, Hong Kong, Chile, Argentina, the Czech Republic, and Kyrgyzstan, and also took part in the pre-moot organized by the Russian Arbitration Center.
The team achieved great results in the global rounds: the team was selected among the 16 best teams of the competition and reached the 1/8 final. Sofia Mirkhaidarova, one of the team members, was ranked among the top 25 best advocates of the competition, demonstrating a high level of performance during the preliminary rounds.
The HSE law faculty was represented by Dilzhan Baktybekova, Sofia Mirkhaidarova, Alexey Tolstykh(5th year undergraduate students of the Faculty of Law, educational program “Jurisprudence”), Laura Makoevaand Kamilla Kinzikeeva (1st and 2nd year master's students of “International Trade Law and Dispute Resolution”).
