Located at a crossroads of global, regional, and national interests, contemporary international law affects almost all spheres of society. The School of International Law keeps pace with significant international events and legal adjudication in order to provide hands-on education that prepares future lawyers and legal scholars for the demands of the current legal landscape. The School is at once a ‘think tank’ that provides expert analysis and a producer of top legal experts and lawyers in international law.

We also have some "absolute champions" this year: it is the seventh time for V. Starzhenetsky and the fifth for D. Boklan to be chosen!
Voters had to indicate two of the most favorite lecturers and two of the most favorite seminar instructors in their LMS.
We asked the winners about their paths to success:
D. Boklan: «I am delighted to be recognized by my students and I am convinced that it was them who led on my way. They happen to be talented, work-loving and accomplished. I invest my time and effort to thoroughly prepare my lectures and seminars, whether it is a well-developed course or a new experimental material. This kind of work demands energy and concentration. But interaction with students always reinvigorates me. On top of that, when a teacher is captivated with his course to the level of an “illness” (as I am), he or she can pass on the “virus”. I wish all our students the best of luck, for they have everything else needed for professional success».
E. Ivanov: «I would like to express my gratitude to the students of "Compliance and Legal Risk Prevention in the Corporate, Public and Non-Profit Sector" and "Law of international trade, finance and economic integration" programs for appraising my work. Our students are the professionals with considerable experience. We were engaged in a dialogue covering all of the relevant topics, such as combatting corruption, money laundering and terrorism financing, as well as the potential developments. Many of these topics were included into the National anti-corruption plan 2021-2024, approved by the President of the Russian Federation on 16 August 2021».
V. Rusinova: «I see my teaching mission in demonstrating the students the possibilities of thinking about international law outside the scope of the positivist model. This task is relatively difficult for any international lawyer – to escape the well-known comfortable discourse and make a step on a new soil. I admire how our students cope with this challenge and appreciate their support! It inspires me to create and experiment!»
V. Starzhenetsky: «I do not have a particular secret or path. I simply put love my students and my profession».
Congratulations to the winners and wish you new victories.
