The School of International Law keeps pace with significant international events and legal adjudication in order to provide hands-on education that prepares future lawyers and legal scholars for the demands of the current legal landscape. The School is at once a ‘think tank’ that provides expert analysis and a producer of top legal experts and lawyers in international law.

Debut of the faculty of law team in the Jean-Pictet Competition
From 6 to 13 February 2026 the 49th international Jean-Pictet competition on international humanitarian law (IHL) was held in Dilijan, Armenia. A total of 48 teams participated in the full-time stage, representing Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, the USA, France, Switzerland and twelve other countries.

A team from HSE University was among the winners. The competition was organised by the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and MITSO International University.
