On March, 18, HSE International Law Club organised a workshop on international arbitration within BRICS. It was held by Olga Tsvetkova (Brevia Partner), Maria Zinovyeva (Brevia Senior Associate), and Victoria Khandrimaylo (HKIAC Special Counsel).

“HSE University Journal of International Law” is a periodical online journal whose mission is to accumulate the results of fundamental and applied research on current issues of international law.

In 2024, a new international competition dedicated to challenging restrictive measures (sanctions) in the Court of Justice of the European Union was launched. 

The article written by Professor Vera Rusinova and Lecturer Ekaterina Martynova titled ‘Fighting Cyber Attacks with Sanctions: Digital Threats, Economic Responses’ has been published in the first issue of 2024 in the ‘Israel Law Review’ 

On February 11, St. Petersburg State University hosted the Final Round of the Russian National Championship of the Jessup Competition, one of the most prestigious law competitions globally. The HSE University team (Moscow) appeared in the Final Round of the National Championship, and came as a Russian Runner-Up, after the champions of this year, the MGIMO team.

As part of the international forum ‘The Nuremberg Trials and Contemporary International Law’ in Minsk, an international competition for undergraduate and graduate students was held. A team from HSE University was among the winners. The competition was organised by the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and MITSO International University.

The oral rounds of the international competition «The Nuremberg Trial and Modern International Law» took place from November 21 to 24. The competition was held by the MITSO International University in Minsk.

On November 5, 2023, another edition of the FDI Moot came to an end. This year more than 150 teams from the leading law schools from around the world participated in the competition. The Global Rounds of the 2023 edition were held in Lucknow, India.

On 15 September 2023, an international conference 'International, National and Corporate Dimension of the ESG-agenda: Does Climate Change Law?' organised by the Faculty of Law was held. This scientific event was one of the first where climate change issues were discussed within a broad interdisciplinary discourse combining legal and economic expertise, international and national law, theoretical research and practical insights, and the approaches of Russian and foreign regulators.

In 2023, the team of the Faculty of Law, Higher School of Economics took part in the student moot court competition for international investment arbitration Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (FIAMC).
