Roman Yankovsky on the summit «The Present and Future of Global Legal Education»

On December 1, Roman Yankovsky, Deputy Dean for Development of the HSE University’s Faculty of Law, took part in the three-day online summit «The Present and Future of Global Legal Education». The event was organized by the Jindal Global Law School of O.P. Jindal Global University.

Roman performed at the panel discussion «Global Law Teacher: New Professional Identities», dedicated to the changing role of the teacher in the modern world. During the discussion, participants addressed issues of globalization of legal education, changes in the legal profession, problems of the development of universities, and the choice of priorities in this development. 

Finally, participants shared opinions on different approaches to teaching Law: Should the focus of legal education be mainly placed on the preparation of students for the individualistic, competitive environment of the legal market or the development of teamwork skills? Various approaches to strike a balance between the two directions were proposed.
