On March 3, 2026, the HSE University Faculty of Law welcomed Professor Aziz Tuffi Saliba , Vice-Provost for International Relations at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil).

From 6 to 13 February 2026 the 49th international Jean-Pictet competition on international humanitarian law (IHL) was held in Dilijan, Armenia. A total of 48 teams participated in the full-time stage, representing Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, the USA, France, Switzerland and twelve other countries.

On February 15, the HSE University Faculty of Law team secured first place at the Moscow Pre-Moot for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The event featured 22 teams from Russia, China, Brazil, India, France, Kazakhstan, and other countries.

On 8 February, MGIMO hosted the final round of the Russian national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice.

On February 3, the HSE University Faculty of Law hosted a presentation showcasing the latest outcomes of the interdisciplinary research project "Law and Art." The initiative has been underway since 2022, implemented jointly with leading cultural and artistic institutions.

On 31 January 2025, the Vice-Provost for International Relations of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), Professor Aziz Tuffi Saliba, visited the Faculty of Law at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The visit aimed to establish and develop cooperation in the fields of science and education.

At the end of last year, HSE University invited several leading higher education organizations of the BRICS countries to bring together efforts to develop legal science and practice for the benefit of BRICS and join the Consortium of BRICS Law Schools. The initiative to create the Consortium was launched by Vadim Vinogradov, the Dean of the Faculty of Law.

HSE University and the social network VK are launching a pilot project to issue NFT diplomas. The diplomas will take the form of digital images with programmed metadata about the graduate, their educational programme, and year of graduation. Graduates of 38 continuing professional education programmes at the Faculty of Law from 2019–2023 will be the first to receive such diplomas. Based on the results of the pilot project, the possibility of implementing the innovation in other faculties and educational programmes will be considered.
