This year Academic Council of the Faculty of Law decided to open English-language program «Russian Law» for Russian and foreign undergraduate and graduate students.

HSE Faculty of Law student Victor Vorobyev has won the Third National Student Watch for Protecting the Rights of University and College Students in the ‘Human Rights Activist of the Year’ category.
In late 2016, the legendary international lawyer and legal scholar Martti Koskenniemi held a series of lectures and seminars at the Faculty of Law of HSE. Press-Centre of the Faculty of Law was fortunate to join Prof. Koskenniemi's talks and discuss before the New Year his diplomatic and academic career.
On April 28 th and 29 th , 2016, an International Criminal Moot Court took place at the HSE Faculty of Law. A moot is an imitation of a procedure at the International Criminal Court, where students represent sides of the process (the prosecutor, the representatives of the aggrieved side and the accused country), and the judges are invited lawyers from Russia and European countries.
On February 7, 2016, the national finals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious law competitions for students, took place in Moscow. The HSE Faculty of Law team took first place.
On December 7, 2015, a roundtable discussion on ‘International Terrorism Today: a Global Challenge for the International Community’ took place at the Faculty of Law.
On December 2nd, 2015 Evgeny N. Salygin, Dean of the Faculty of law and Vladislav Starzhenetsky, First Deputy Dean, met the administration, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Law at the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) and signed a memorandum of cooperation in research and education.
On October 28, 2015, Dr. Paul Smith, professor in labour relations management at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), spoke to undergraduate and master’s students on ‘The Future of Labour Law under Globalization and Regionalization’.
