An international conference entitled ‘Law in the Digital Era’ recently took place at the Higher School of Economics. Irina Bogdanovskaya, head of the HSE Laboratory of Information Law, told us about the results of the conference.

On May 15th 2011, a meeting with Lanny Breuer, Assistant Attorney General of the United States, and Loretta Lynch, the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, took place at the HSE. The event was organized by the HSE together with the Transparency International Russia Center for Anti-Corruption Research and Initiatives and the Moscow Compliance Club.
On April 4th the second plenary session of the 13th April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development took place at the HSE Cultural Center.
In January 2012, 13 students of the Higher School of Economics visited Singapore as part of the ‘iConnect: Connecting global Youths. Inspiring future Entrepreneurs’ exchange programme organized by the students from the National University of Singapore.
From July 26th - 30th the VIII International Council for Central and East European Studies (ICCEES) Congress took place in Stockholm. The event takes place once every five years and brings together researchers from Russia and East Europe.
On June 17th
an international seminar on ‘Information Law and Politics’ was held at
the HSE
Faculty of Law and a Research Laboratory on Information Law was
unveiled.
On June 8th
and 9th the HSE Faculty of Law welcomed Michal Sewerynski, professor
at the Institute of Lodz, Poland.
Evgeniy Salygin, Dean of
the HSE Faculty of Law, told us about the specific features of legal education
at the Higher School of Economics and the preparations for this year's
students' enrollment.
On November 20th a meeting with Fernando Pelaez-Pier, the President of the International Bar Association , took place at the HSE. He answered numerous questions from the students with the help of his colleagues - Akira Kawamura, Vice President, and Tomasz Wardynski, PR Director.
Angelika Nussberger, Director of the Cologne University Institute for Eastern European Law, and Eduard Ivanov, Deputy Dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, told us about the Russian-German seminar on ‘International Legal Problems of Counterterrorism’ which took place at the HSE on November 5th and 6th, as well as about plans for further cooperation between the two universities.
