Faculty of Law strengthens international relations with the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil)
On 31 January 2025, the Vice-Provost for International Relations of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), Professor Aziz Tuffi Saliba, visited the Faculty of Law at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The visit aimed to establish and develop cooperation in the fields of science and education.
During the meeting, Professor Saliba discussed the prospects for joint work with representatives of the Faculty of Law, including the First Deputy Dean Albina Gadjieva, Deputy Dean for Research Alexander Larichev, Director of the International Cooperation Center Olga Trynkova, Head of the Department of International Law Vera Rusinova, and staff members from the relevant department.
The discussions focused on the potential for collaboration within the BRICS Law Schools Consortium, as well as the initiative for the student competition known as the BRICS LEX Model. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of deepening the bilateral cooperation and collaborative planning for the activities of the working group on international law.
Professor Saliba expressed his readiness for active engagement in scientific research, teaching, and academic mobility. The meeting also included discussions on common research themes and areas of interest from a comparative legal analysis perspective.
Professor Saliba also met with postgraduate students, those enrolled in the Master's programme in "International Trade Law and Dispute Resolution," undergraduate students, and faculty members. His lecture sparked significant interest among the audience, prompting numerous questions from attendees. In concluding his remarks, he commended the participants for their impressive preparedness and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received.
