On November 5, 2023, another edition of the FDI Moot came to an end. This year more than 150 teams from the leading law schools from around the world participated in the competition. The Global Rounds of the 2023 edition were held in Lucknow, India.

“HSE University Journal of International Law” is a periodical online journal whose mission is to accumulate the results of fundamental and applied research on current issues of international law.

On 15 September 2023, an international conference 'International, National and Corporate Dimension of the ESG-agenda: Does Climate Change Law?' organised by the Faculty of Law was held. This scientific event was one of the first where climate change issues were discussed within a broad interdisciplinary discourse combining legal and economic expertise, international and national law, theoretical research and practical insights, and the approaches of Russian and foreign regulators.

In 2023, the team of the Faculty of Law, Higher School of Economics took part in the student moot court competition for international investment arbitration Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (FIAMC).

On 20 March 2023, Aleksei Petrenko, Associate Professor of the School of International Law, successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The title of his dissertation is «The Right to Regulate in International Economic Law: Towards a General Theory with Lessons from the GATS». During the defense, Aleksei demonstrated a deep level of knowledge and research skills in his field. He presented original scientific results that received high praise from the doctoral committee.

On December 6-7, 2022, the IX Annual International Conference of Young Scientists "Actual Problems of World Politics" was held within the framework of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

Professors of the School of International Law Daria Boklan and Vera Rusinova gave interviews for the Fyodor Lukyanov’s TV program ‘Mezhdunarodnoe Obozrenie’ at the ‘Russia 24’ channel.

The HSE Model UN is a role-playing game with elements of an academic conference, in which delegates emulate the work of United Nations bodies in several official languages.
