On 15 September 2023, an international conference 'International, National and Corporate Dimension of the ESG-agenda: Does Climate Change Law?' organised by the Faculty of Law was held. This scientific event was one of the first where climate change issues were discussed within a broad interdisciplinary discourse combining legal and economic expertise, international and national law, theoretical research and practical insights, and the approaches of Russian and foreign regulators.

On 20 March 2023, Aleksei Petrenko, Associate Professor of the School of International Law, successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The title of his dissertation is «The Right to Regulate in International Economic Law: Towards a General Theory with Lessons from the GATS». During the defense, Aleksei demonstrated a deep level of knowledge and research skills in his field. He presented original scientific results that received high praise from the doctoral committee.

On December 10, 2022, a competition on international law was held among 2nd year bachelor students. The competition was held as a simulation of the hearing of the case in the International Court of Justice according to the rules of the Ph. Jessup Competition. 

The Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot), the most prestigious competition in the field of international investment arbitration, was held in early November.

On November 12, 2022, a large number of students took part in a master class by Professor V.N. Rusinova "Writing term papers and theses on international law".

Professor KONG Qingjiang will give a course of lectures on current trends in the field of international economic law that have developed in China.

In February 2022, an article on exceptions to international trade agreements was published in the European Journal of International Law. Daria Boklan, Professor and Deputy Head of the HSE Department of International Law, is a co-author of the publication.
