The oral rounds of the international competition «The Nuremberg Trial and Modern International Law» took place from November 21 to 24. The competition was held by the MITSO International University in Minsk.

On November 5, 2023, another edition of the FDI Moot came to an end. This year more than 150 teams from the leading law schools from around the world participated in the competition. The Global Rounds of the 2023 edition were held in Lucknow, India.

'Does Climate Change Law?' - Lawyers and Economists Discussed Topical Issues of the ESG-Agenda
On 15 September 2023, an international conference 'International, National and Corporate Dimension of the ESG-agenda: Does Climate Change Law?' organised by the Faculty of Law was held. This scientific event was one of the first where climate change issues were discussed within a broad interdisciplinary discourse combining legal and economic expertise, international and national law, theoretical research and practical insights, and the approaches of Russian and foreign regulators.

Adam Nalgiev, a Ph.D student at the School of International Law of the Faculty of Law and a research assistant at the Laboratory of International Justice, was awarded the International Law in the XXI Century Award for the best scientific paper on public international law, hosted by International and Comparative Law Research Center. The topic of the paper: “Inconsistency in practice of investment tribunals on the issues of proof: does the reform have anything to offer?”.

Congratulations to Aleksei Petrenko on a successful PhD thesis defense at the University of Göttingen!
On 20 March 2023, Aleksei Petrenko, Associate Professor of the School of International Law, successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The title of his dissertation is «The Right to Regulate in International Economic Law: Towards a General Theory with Lessons from the GATS». During the defense, Aleksei demonstrated a deep level of knowledge and research skills in his field. He presented original scientific results that received high praise from the doctoral committee.
