In 2023, the team of the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics took part in Willem С. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The HSE Faculty of Law team was represented by 4^th year bachelor students Yaroslava Branovskaya, Maria Eremenko and Anna Zaikina, and also 3^rd year bachelor students Kamilla Makhmudova and Alexey Tolstykh.

For the third year running, HSE University has come first in the ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia, published for the fifth time by Forbes magazine.

The Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot), the most prestigious competition in the field of international investment arbitration, was held in early November.

HSE University is one of the best Russian universities (4th place) and consistently ranks among the top 150 best universities in the world (142nd place) according to the Three University Missions world ranking that has been published since 2017.

HSE University took first place in four subject rankings and second place by the number of gold medals among Russian universities. The university entered the top three Russian universities by receiving nine prizes in various fields. The Three University Missions subject rankings in 29 fields of study were presented for the first time at an open meeting of the Council of the Russian Union of Rectors and the Association of Rating Makers.

On 23^rd and 24^th September HSE School of International Law hold the International academic conference “International Justice: Looking into the Future”. Thanks to the online format, we gathered speakers from the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands and several Russian cities.

HSE University has demonstrated explosive growth in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (Shanghai Ranking), improving its standing by as many as 200 places. The university climbed to the 601-700 group of ARWU and advanced from 7-8th to the 4-5th among Russian universities.

HSE University has ranked in the Top-5 universities in the RAEX ranking for four years. We received our highest scores thanks to demand for graduates on the job market.

On 03 March 2021, students of the master's program “Private International Law and International Commercial Arbitration” and undergraduate students of the HSE Faculty of Law enhanced their knowledge of Private International Law development trends.
